Re: Favre and Childress going at it

Well I guess he isn't gonna be going anywhere soon if he just resigned. I guess I was unaware the he resigned. Well that could be a good thing for the Pack then!!

Re: Favre and Childress going at it

Childress has driven me nuts at times, but I've kept quiet because the team has improved every year with him at the helm.

That said, he's a terrible game manager. Look at the Baltimore game. Favre hits Rice for a big play, when the Vikes are down by 1. Rather than even try and get it into the end zone, he just settles for the field goal with 1:00 left, giving Baltimore the ball back with all their time outs only needing a field goal (which they missed) to win. Yesterday, with Favre getting harassed on every play, they continue to line him up under center rather than go to the shotgun to buy him some time. Then there is his undying devotion to TJack.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

    Exactly.
Don't get me started on how they use AP either.

You must have not been in the Vikings threads much this year. Even when we are winning people are ripping on Childress. Guy is a terrible in game manager.

Ravens game is a good example

It really just seems like CHILDress coaches just to win. We have been up 14 or so points in the first half and he just starts to be a conservitive son of a ***** and runs the ball for 15 plays straight. Then they end up making a comeback. Take these teams and crush them, beat them by 34+ points. The NFL is not about making friends Brad.

He coaches to win? I've always seen him coaching NOT to lose. Luckily they've won in spite of him a few times this year.

Listening to that game was a bit odd. He used all of his timeouts during the Vikings final possesion - which ended in a punt - and then put the game in the hands of a defensive unit that had surrendered a 21-point lead.

I believe the Packers have 13 NFL championships, 3 of which are Super Bowls. Lombardi was also an assistant for the Giants, and ended his career with Washington.

    Nice!

I am a rare Vikings fan who actually likes the Packers as well. Pretty much because I have always been a huge Brett Favre fan

    It's only 12 NFL Championships.
