Re: Favre and Childress going at it

i think childress just knows he cant win without favre staying healthy to the superbowl. He also wants to give tavaris some more experience just incase injuries happen.

All childress needs is brett to get the lead. Let the defense take care of the rest, and used AP to run down the clock.

However, I guess brett just wants to be the star

i mean seriously, deangelo williams was hurt, you have matt moore as qb, what the hell could carolina do?.....oh wait....

Re: Favre and Childress going at it

I blame Childress for building this team and being 11-3.

Love the Vikes, hate Favre. The only enjoyment I'll get out of this season is when Favre throws the ball to the Saints in the championship game. What in Viking history has led anyone to believe this won't end badly? This is just another Herschel trade punchline we'll have to deal with forever.

Wants to be the star? He is the starting QB, a HOF QB, his team is up 7-6 in the 3rd quarter, in a game they need to win to still have a shot at home field throughout, and his idiot coach wants to take him out. He hadn't thrown a pick, and had actually looked decent. His WR's couldn't catch the ball and his LT couldn't block.

Maybe the coach should have a RB chip Peppers rather than taking out his MVP

Yes because Childress is the reason they 11-3

Do you watch the games? The horrible clock management and in game decisions?

And what in your right mind makes you compare this to Herschel Walker. The Vikings getting Favre has worked out great for them

You don't have to look at the Vikings' history, just look at Favre's recent history. This whole thing just puts a huge smile on my face.

look, i like favre, i was happy he came back because his injury with the jets made him leave on a bad note.

However, i do see why childress tried to do what he did. He wants to preserve favre, he needs him to win the superbowl. Without him, there is no way adrian peterson and the defense can even be nfc champs, we all saw that last year.

TJ may not be a better option, but running AP might be. Favre wants to be the hero and doesn't want to play second fiddle to AP. Look at the run-pass dispersancy in the last few weeks, Favre is taking carries away from AP. What Favre doesn't realize the even with a stacked box, AP can get to the second level and has a better shot at taking one to the house with a stacked box

Re: Favre and Childress going at it

This whole thing makes me laugh my *** off. The Vikings fans are finally getting a real taste of Favre. Biggest ego on the planet. And by the way, the Super Bowl he won was because the Packers had the best D in the league that year with Reggie. Then when Favre needed to carry them in the Super Bowl the following year, they got whacked as a 14 point favorite.

Your take on this is laughable. You really think Favre is calling the media? Ed Werder sleeps in a lot on Favre's front yard. He follows his every move. I am sure that Mortensen didn't call Favre! That would be crazy to think about that!

I like Favre because he is a no bull **** guy. You ask him a question and he answers it. He doesn't beat around the bush. I am sure some people hate it because they want stuff to remain private but that's not Favre. You ask him a question and he will answer.
Throughout the will/won't he drama of 2008, Favre's primary avenue for getting news out was ESPN or Fox news.

Manning and Brady are smart enough to stay on message when there might be something dicey going down. Remember a couple of weeks ago when Moss quit during a game, and every reporter in the room tried to get Brady and Belichik to admit it? They never did, and only said what they knew Moss wanted to here, because they know they need him if they have any hope of making a run in the playoffs.

Even Manning will say in press conferences that he'll defer to his head coach, even though his head coach is a rookie and Manning is the best QB in the league.

It's very obvious who is in charge of the Vikings, and it isn't Brad Childress.

The only way that this "works out" for the Vikings is if Dan Patrick hands Brett the Lombardi trophy on Feb. 7th.
