Re: What 2 teams will play in the Superbowl?
Vikes & Chargers. Explain to me again why the Packers alienated possibly the greatest QB of all time. I know he drove people nuts with his back & forth retirements, but management didn't step up to the plate and acknowledge what they had: a Hall of Fame QB with plenty in the tank and a young QB that could have been used to trade for whatever they needed for the past two years to make serious Super Bowl runs. In my view, the Packer fans should really be miffed with what opportunity was lost. Favre and Warner are both great QB,s that, looking back, really missed out.

As a Bear's fan this pains me to say, but I believe it will be the Vikings vs Chargers, with the Vikings winning, and then Farve will retire.

You haven't paid much attention the last couple years. Favre is a HOF QB, but he held the Packers organization hostage his last few years there. Please tell me how Favre would have made a Superbowl impact on last years Packers? Or elevated this years team? Last year the defense was atrocious, offense wasn't the problem. Rodgers has performed far above expectations, and the longer he continues putting together Pro Bowl seasons the smarter the Packers look. Yes Favre still has some in the tank, but Rodgers is here for the long hall barring any injuries. I'll take that any day right now.

Why would you cash in the next 12 years of a solid QB to pacify an aging QB for two more years?

Re: What 2 teams will play in the Superbowl?
jtd9046-you must have missed the point about trading Rogers for players that would address any weaknesses. My contention is that NFL teams can only assemble Super Bowl caliber teams for only a couple of years and that the QB is the most important player.& Favre is still better than Rogers will ever be.

I didn't miss the point, and you just made my case right there in your post.
The QB is the most important piece, and the Packers now know that they have their QB for hopefully the next 10 years or so, not a maybe QB year to year. A Pro Bowl QB on a team that allowed a NFL high 51 sacks at that. Shore up that line, and the Packers are a Superbowl contender right now. The Packers have had one of the youngest teams in the league the last 3-4 years, they have a ton of potential.
Also, the Packers did assemble teams around Favre towards the end of his career. Those teams didn't get it done. Not all on him, but they did make runs at it.

Re: What 2 teams will play in the Superbowl?
Also, what kind of high caliber players would a team trade for without seeing Rodgers start a season??? Seeing what they see now, yes the Packers could have gotten something for him. But honestly what do you think they could have got for a backup QB with 20 or so career passes in a trade?

You can't even spell Rodgers correctly, so what makes you think you can predict his potential?

Re: What 2 teams will play in the Superbowl?
I think it would be hard to bet against Manning at home, no matter who the Colts are playing. Also, the fact that no matter what all the Vikings playoff games will be inside I think is huge for that team.....even if they do have to go to New Orleans.

Re: What 2 teams will play in the Superbowl?
I am neither a Packer or Viking fan so you correctly pointed out my misspelling of Rodgers, I stand corrected. I assume that Rodgers made the Pro Bowl since it is mentioned several times.Until he plays in or wins a Super Bowl, he is just another very good NFL QB, of which there are many. Dan Marino was one of the greats, went to one Super Bowl early and never returned and spent his whole career with one team. The Vikes time is now and they rolled the dice with Favre and it is paying off. Would Sage have done as well? Hopefully yes, but probably not.
