Politics forum, here we come.
Will jumping not be allowed?
Let's remember to keep any and all racist comments out of this thread, please, or it will be shut down immediately.
Ahhh, racism is still alive and well in the South I see. At least they won't need to spend cash on mouth pieces.
Since I've been known to dance around, and often over, the line of political, not sure what I can say here without stepping over. But......what the hell.
Obviously silly, and in poor taste. But if you allow any racial group to form a group based on that exclusive race, then you have to allow nimrods like this to form theirs.
Should not and will not happen.
I think we're all missing the important thing here...Lucca didn't actually need to leave the U.S. to play professionally.

Well, I'm going to leave the race portion of this whole deal alone, but I am afraid that it is going to overshadow another aspect of what this guy is talking about that deserves some attention. The death of fundamental basketball. He is trying to imply that it is a race thing, but I think it is really a result of the business environment in the NBA. The flashy plays get you on Sports Center and make you famous. Then when you are famous you make the big bucks and get the shoe deals and the whole thing. Everybody wants to get paid, so everybody is out to make the flashy plays fundamentals be damned.
This is great for the NBA guys, but it is a problem when all the kids in the country are looking up to them and modeling their games after them. How many threads do we have on this site talking about how poorly ISU rebounds or how bad we are running a half court offense or how so many of our players don't play defense. It shouldn't be much of a shock when most of these guys probably grew up looking up to guys who don't rebound or play defense.
Now as to how to fix this, I'm not sure. I don't think an all white league will do a thing for it, and I don't think you can change the NBA at this point either. I guess it would have to be a ground up thing with kids playing in organized leagues with good coaches teaching the game right. Maybe this guy should throw his money behind some coaching clinics or something.
