As a Packer fan I find it a little sad that he ends up finishing his career in Minnesota. I can't blame the guy for wanting to play, I just wish it was with somebody else. The Packers made the right choice though, you can't risk losing a really good young quarterback just to get the last few miles out of a great old one. Also, anybody who thinks Favre would have had the same year with Packers - outdoors and behind that offensive line - is crazy.
I wish the Vikings had fun the ball more in the first half. Might have taken some of those hits off of Favre. He threw like 25 times the first half, so the Saints didn't really have to worry about the run too much.
Other than that, shows what home field, especially in a dome can do for you. Vikings should have taken care of business at Chicago and Carolina when the Saints were trying to hand them the no. 1 seed. No way would the Vikings have lost that game yesterday in the Metrodome.
Not sure what Favre will do next year. If you go by the look on his wife's face yesterday when he was getting hit, I would think he would not be back. On the other hand, with the Vikings, he may have the best set of offensive weapons he has ever had. It is also kind of hard to believe he would want to end his career with an interception.
Even if he does not come back, I doubt he would hold the Vikings hostage. What would be the point? If he wants to come back again, it will only be to the Vikings, so why would he do that again? He may not come back, but I bet he lets them know one way or the other before the draft.
My prediction is that his decision will be made, purely by coincidence mind you, sometime around the time when training camp is over.
