Brad Childress
While there is a lot of Vikings talk going on today, I don't see a lot about Brad Childress. Terrible clock management at the end of the game, terrible 12 men in the huddle penalty directly after a timeout, etc.
For the amount of complaining about Greg McDermott, I think similar can be said about Brad Childress. You have:
-A HOF QB that had one of his best seasons in his career
-A future HOF running back that is considered the best in the NFL
-An All-Pro defensive end with a beast of a pass rush
-Two interior defensive linemen that are the best 1-2 run stoppers in the league
If I was a Vikings fan, I would consider this season a loss. Granted he won the Division and made the NFC Championship Game but with the talent on that team, there is no way they shouldn't be playing in the Super Bowl.

Re: Brad Childress
Brad Childress must have fumbled and threw the interceptions as well.

Re: Brad Childress
I've been really critical of him a lot of this year, but last night's loss was more on the players, IMO. I'm not too impressed with him, but I don't think he was the reason we lost yesterday.

Re: Brad Childress
While VERY impressive, I think it is a little premature to be calling AP a HOF'er.

While he probably did not explicitly tell AP to actually accept the handoff, or for Berrian and Harvin to keep the ball until the play is over, my guess is they covered that in training camp. He could have, however helped out with the two runs for 0 yards, 12 men flag and Brett roll-out debacle at the end.
Keep him and see what happens next year, with or without Favre.

Re: Brad Childress
Brad Childress had the keys to the cadillac, and all he had to do was keep it waxed. But his wife backed into it with the Tahoe.
I have no idea what that means?

Because the Vikes played pretty well all season, had a great year, and just came out flat in a single game, which they still almost won. They just had a few turnovers, and that was on the players.
The men's bball team on the other hand hasn't done a single spectacular thing all year.
Apples and oranges here. If the bball team had a great year and then got tripped up in the Final Four, nobody would be trying to kill McD.

Jim was getting a hearful after that penalty was called **I loved watching Brett compete, that being said he made a couple mistakes on the field and a couple really poor decisions that BC has no control over, unless you do not want Brett in the game...? **I was nervous every time he touch the ball yesterday, anybody else....? Great player but he can not put the ball on the ground... **lost my 1 Billion credit bet, that JA could get over .05 sack, where was the kind of pressure that New Orleans put on Brett, 1 Sack by Edwards was all we got...
Obviously the Head Coach is ultimately responsible for the final product, but I think the Brad has to be given credit for what he has done and where the Vikings are at right now, compared to when he took over...(imo)

Re: Brad Childress
Chilly has also IMPROVED each year victory-wise.
6-10
8-8
10-6 (won division)
12-4 (won division)
I'll take a 2 win increase each year.

He put the players in position to win and the players fumbled it away. Besides the turnovers, Favre could have asily ran for 5-10 yards on that final play insteda of throwing across his body into the middle of the field. they would have been looking at a 45 yard field goal to win even after giving up all the turnovers. Sorry but that loss falls on the players.

I'll take a 2 win increase each year. Heck yeah! In a couple years we can go 16-0 and THEN lose in the NFC title game. WOOHOO!
