TOTALLY DISAGREE.....when Rivers got to San Diego, they were already set up to win with a pretty good D and LT, nice O-line,etc. When Brees got to NO they had nothing and were ready to move the team due to Catrina!!! Brees is clearly better than Rivers IMO, although both good QB's.

I meant made the playoffs before they drafted Rivers. Rivers would have been a rookie or second year player when they made the playoffs.

Rivers has done more with the Chargers than Brees did. IMO they are in the same league at QB. Rivers team lost some heartbreakers and Brees team got some of the breaks to win the Super Bowl. Only difference between the two

Look at the Saints TOTAL wins in the playoffs in their 42 year history!!!
Before Brees: 2 wins, 0 titles
After Brees 5 wins 1 title

Also, Brees went 12-4 and won division in 04. Then went 9-7 in 05, and he hurt his shoulder and had surgery after season and the Chargers let him go.

No it's not "enough said." The argument has nothing to do with what you just showed. It is impressive and helps show that Brees is a good QB, but like I said that's not the argument. The argument is you thinking he is much better than Rivers. Your stat doesn't prove anything.

Show me something that shows that he is a much better QB than Rivers. Not something about a TEAMS history.

The great ones are the ones that get those breaks though. Jury will still be out on this debate for awhile, but San Diego never seems get as far in the postseason as everyone thinks they should. That's what people remember.

Guys it is kind of like comparing chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate revel ice cream......They are both Good.

That being said chocolate chip is a little closer to the ice cream hall of fame with his win tonight.

Were they not in the AFC championship game just last year? Brees didn't create 6 TO's 2 weeks ago to get him to the super bowl. Sometimes little breaks go your way. Is that really going to be what determines your legacy?

Brees is the flavor of the month right now. In the end, he won't be remembered as a top 10 QB. That's all I'm saying.

And if I had to start a team right now and had to pick between Rivers or Brees at QB. Give me Rivers. Bigger QB, stronger arm, great leader, and a winner (even in college)

I agree. Both are good. Brees will get a nod b/c of the SB. I don't agree with that logic but it's the way it is unfortunately
