Daytona Duels
Jimmie Johnson wins the first one by 6/1000 of a second over Kevin Harvick. Michael McDowell and Max Papis get the two "transfer" spots and will be in the 500.

Re: Daytona Duels
Been watching it on the sling box from my office. Wondering how long Junior will race in this one before falling back like Mark Martin did in the first one.

Re: Daytona Duels
Here is my problem with the duals. The TV guys make such a big deal about the final transfer spots, which I understand is a story. But essentially, they waste half of the broadcast breaking down the cars that will finish 37th and 38th on race day. That bugs me every year.

Agree, however, I was/still am pulling for Michael Waltrip to get in because I think he could actually do something.

They also make a big deal out of qualifying when it doesn't really matter where you qualify...with the plate races, you can move up/down 10-15 spots in just a few laps.

Re: Daytona Duels
Race #2, Kasey Kahne wins by less than 5/100 of a second over Tony Sterwart. Mike Bliss and Scott Speed get the transfer spots. Michael Waltrip gets in on qualifying time. If these 2 races are any indication of the action on Sunday, we should be in for a great race!! Kudos to Nascar for loosening the rules and letting the drivers have more control over what happens.

Re: Daytona Duels
Listened to them on the radio at work; sounded like good racing. Looking forward to Sunday.
