***Official Daytona 500 Thread***
This is one of my favorite sporting events of the year. I am a racing junkie.
My favorite driver is Elliot Sadler but he never wins...I'll take either Kurt Busch or Mark Martin today. Hopefully Martin.

Well, this thread must be official, it has the **** ****.
And as far as drivers go, I'm going to have to go with Kyle Busch.

Tornado - what is the best local dirt track in the Ames area? I'm moving to Ames in May and need a go to track. I've been to Boone before and am not crazy about IMCA at all. Knoxville would be ideal but that is a pretty good haul. How is Marshalltown?

At one point, they were owned by the same people.

I've always kept my eye on Tony Stewart. Although dangerous at times, he's also is risky in the way of sacraficing even himself to improve himself. Kind of reminds me of the old days of racing.

Mark Martin would be my first choice. I like Jr. too. Best case scenario would be for Tony Stewart and Kyle Bush to wreck at the end and Mark Martin gets the checkers.

Disappointed Keselowski involved in that 1st wreck, I enjoy watching him down the stretch.

I like Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City. It's a 1/2 track, so twice as big as Marshalltown and Boone (which is 3/8 mile I believe). Also I go to the State Fairgrounds track once in a while.
Not a dirt track, but Hawkeye Downs in CR hosts the ASA Keith Fleck 100 every summer; I don't miss it. I think it's July 2 this year.
