    Re: MLB Division Realignment

I don't know whether it's already been addressed, but you can't have 15 teams in each division - you'd have to have an interleague series every day of the season if you did that, and considering some people think too many interleague games are played already, it ain't gonna happen.

My idea - expand the league by 2 teams in 3 candidate cities - Charlotte, Las Vegas, Portland.

    NL East:
    New York Mets
    Philadelphia Phillies
    Washington Nationals
    Pittsburgh Pirates

    NL South:
    Atlanta Braves
    Florida Marlins
    Houston Astros
    Cincinnati Reds

    NL North:
    Chicago Cubs
    St Louis Cardinals
    Milwaukee Brewers
    Colorado Rockies

    NL West:
    Arizona Diamondbacks
    San Diego Padres
    San Francisco Giants
    Los Angeles Dodgers

    AL East:
    Boston Red Sox
    New York Yankes
    Toronto Blue Jays
    Baltimore Orioles

    AL South:
    Tampa Bay Rays
    Texas Rangers
    Kansas City Royasl
    Charlotte/Las Vegas

    AL North:
    Chicago White Sox
    Cleveland Indians
    Detroit Tigers
    Minnesota Twins

    AL West:
    Los Angeles Angels
    Oakland A's
    Seattle Mariners
    Las Vegas/Portland

It's not exactly ideal, because it adds two more teams a decade after MLB talked about contracting, and particularly the AL South isn't ideal at all, especially if both expansion teams are Las Vegas and Portland, but at least it works.

Guess what life isn't fair. This is the stupidest concept I've ever seen.

Ok, fine, but when this NFL season becomes the same thing about the Cowboys,Raiders, and some others because their owners spend money, I don't wanna hear anybody complaining about that. Listen, as a Cowboys fan, I know how owners throw money around. That said, do I want an unrestricted year??? NO!!!! Then they become MLB, where you can BUY a championship, which would be a tainted championship IMHO. I, for one, am tired of owners being able to BUY championships rather than EARN them through hard work, drafting the right people, and developing talent. In short, I'm sick of the Yankees being able to buy whatever team they want because they have their own network and big business behind them. If any other team goes out and BUYS A-Rod, Sabathia, Texiera, Granderson, Burnett, etc etc, Hell yeah I expect them to win it all!! Even the ******* Nationals could win with that lineup!!!! But no, the MLB has to be different than everybody else and let teams buy a championship. So yeah, life's not fair, and neither is the MLB!!!!! And BTW, there are lots of "stupid concepts" that have done quite well in the world today!!!! You think people thought Ben Franklin was stupid, how about Alexander Graham Bell?? Yeah they were real stupid in their day huh??? How'd that work out???

Hey, I loathe the Yankees as much as you, but this is how baseball is so there is not much you can do. Let's not talk about great inventors and their "concepts" with a discussion of a sport realignment plan. This plan is stupid because it takes half of the teams and put them in different leagues with different rules and eliminates major rivalries. If this happened I think the poster whose realignment plan included expansion is best case scenario.

I like the expansion idea too......oh yeah, and get rid of the DH or put it in both leagues, either way I don't care but make it fair for the pitchers stats.

The everything revolves around the east attitude of the article gets a little old. I wonder if the author has ever been west of the alleghenies. Relocating the Twins to the Iron Range on the map is a nice touch.
