Steal if he can stay on the field.... which he hasn't been recently. If you get him, you're going to have to pay him big, and he's an injury-prone WR bout to hit the downside of his career. I also believe he's very much a product of a system, imo, and is a very good #2 and a decent #1. He makes a living going across the middle of the field and going in motion to get mismatches.
Boldin is simply overrated, imo.
His stats prove that statement wrong. Especially for a 3rd round pick.Quote:

Any number of teams should be banging down the door. A 3rd round pick is a steal, IMO.
I don't know if he is a number 1 receiver, but not every team has a traditional number 1 anymore. He'd be a welcome addition to any number of teams. And the Cards probably are thinking they really won't miss him. They still have a good tandem in Fitz and Breaston.
Off the top of my head KC, Chicago, Buffalo, Carolina, and Miami all seem like decent landing spots for him. Seattle, St. Louis, and San Fran would also be good, but I doubt the Cards will send him within the division.

I don't think it would be a good deal unless one of a couple situations plays out:
You're a team with just one or two missing pieces and are only really looking for depth in your draft picks. Otherwise giving up a 3rd rounder (which is one of the most dependable rounds in the draft) for a 1 year player doesn't really seem worth it unless...
Sign and trade. Get Boldin to sign a contract extension with the Cardinals as a condition of the trade. At least a two year extension locking him up for a total of 3. Then I'd make the deal in a heartbeat.
