Tarvaris still ahed of Sage if Farve doesn't return
Star Tribune - If Brett Favre decides not to return, all indications are that Tarvaris Jackson would be the starter over Sage Rosenfels.
Jackson at this point is a restricted free agent and has yet to sign his tender. Jackson was the No. 2 QB all last season behind Favre on game day.
Brad Childress was asked if Jackson would be in the lead to be the starter if Favre retires, Childress said: “If you took it off of last year, yeah. But we’re going to get to the field here before we start next year so we’ll just see how those guys have evolved.”

So I still hate Brett Favre for taking Sage's spot that Sage never had in the first place! :jimlad:

Poor Sage just never gets any respect. At least he's made pretty good money riding the bench for a long time.

with all due respect to Sage, he is just as big of a question mark as T-Jack.
Neither is even remotely an ideal solution for the Vikings.
I could easily see Minnesota taking a QB in maybe the 3rd round of the draft. Colt McCoy or Dan Lefevour, maybe, and then letting T-Jack or Sage go.

Id like to take McCoy...or trade up for McNabb or Kolb.

I'm kind of hoping that McNabb is still a possibility, but it won't happen until Favre makes his decision. Supposedly it would take a 2nd round pick to get McNabb out of Philly. That's what the rumor from St. Louis was, anyway. But, even if it's their first round pick, that's not a bad value for a starting QB.

Favre will be back.
dude can still play and is tough as nails...plus part of me believes he wants to push all records out of Manning's reach.

Seriously....you earn respect. It is not something that you "get".

Sage played much better than T-Jack during pre-season game. The problem was: T-Jack was Chilly's personal project.
I've already posted similar sentiment last year. Can you believe that the Vikings traded up for T-Jack ?

Several of the Viking bloggers who spent a lot time in training camp reported that Sage really struggled in drills and camp scrimmages. Supposedly T-Jack clearly outplayed him. Granted, T-Jack's game time last year was all mop-up duty, but he appeared to have a much better grasp of how to run the offense. He is clearly the best athlete of the 3 QB's.
