Do Lions want to trade the number 2 pick?

No one knows what the Lions' draft plans are. Heck, even the team's decision-makers may not know what they're going to do with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft more than two weeks away.
But one personnel expert says the Lions want to trade down from the second spot to acquire at least one extra draft pick.
"I think they'd like to trade out of there," Gil Brandt, an NFL Network analyst who was Dallas' vice president of player personnel in 1960-89, said in a recent phone interview. "They hope that somebody is looking for a quarterback and they can pick up an extra choice or two extra choices."
That's good news for the Lions, since three of the teams that might draft a quarterback pick in the top eight: Washington (No. 4), Seattle (No. 6) and Cleveland (No. 7).

Be interesting to see if they do make a trade and who moves up to take that pick.

It should be the Bears. Jay Cutler absolutely sucks. (Rex Grossman 2.0)

I think they entertain offers for the #2 but in the end they take Suh.

The thing is what is Chicago going to send to get the pick? They sent everything of immediate value to denver for cutler last year.

You can cross Washington off that list. After the McNabb trade, I would say the Redskins are nearly a lock to take an OT with their first pick. There will still be a good one around at the 5 position.

I guess I can understand Detroit's logic in wanting to trade down, but getting a guy like Suh has got to be tempting. Maybe they think they can still get him if they trade down.

not a chance. The Bears are all in on Cutler. Suck or no, he's not going anywhere.

Re: Do Lions want to trade the number 2 pick?

Someone want to clarify who exactly Cutler had to throw to all year?

Is Cutler overrated? At this point in his career I'd say yes. But cutler is out on an island in that offense, and the offensive scheme is horrible to boot. For years the Bears have thrived on winning via a monstrous defense and an offense geared to not messing it up for the defense. Now the defense has aged to the point where it can't be counted on to win by itself, and they are realizing that the offense has to bail out the defense more and more. But you don't just change the mentality of the "just don't screw us up" offense overnight, particularly with a QB that will risk mistakes in order to make plays. I think Cutler has a decent chance to succeed in Chicago, but he won't unless the Bears put some players around him.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
