Vikings sign 2 tryout players -- Iowa State WR Marquis Hamilton and Southwest Minnesota State OT Bill Noethlich, according to team website.
That is great for Hamilton!! He will be a hard worker, and will do the things most receivers don't want to do, like block. I bet he plays some on special teams too. I can see him being a poor mans Hines Ward type player.
I'm really surprised Christopher Lyle hasn't signed with a team, I really thought he could have a future in the NFL.. He has the build to play DE in the NFL IMO, he probably would never be a sack guy, but would be a sold run stopper.
Congrats to Marquis. Hopefully he can make the team. His size and speed could provide him with a home on special teams. Here's what Vikings VP of Player Personnel Rick Spielman said in the article about Marquis:
“Marquis is a big wide receiver with good size who showed a good ability catching the ball. His performance over the weekend warranted a further look as we continue this spring.”
