    Re: Cubs Call Up Castro

I kinda feel bad for the kid. His 6 RBI game put him up on a pedestal and cub fans will expect that he be perfect from here on out.

Then he goes out and is a 19 year old and has 3 errors in a game.

They really should've kept him down for a while longer.

I think he was just nervous as heck in his first home game at Wrigley. Any rookie would have ants in their pants in a packed home crowd at Wrigley. He'll calm down.

I've said it from the beginning that the first game reminded me of Fukudome's first. It's almost a curse to come in and play that well in your first game. Cuz, then people start to expect it night and night out. And that type of output nightly is impossible for anybody. Hope he can shake it off and get back to business. But, he's far from the biggest problem in Wrigleyville right now...

Yeah, it's hard to put your finger on just one...

he had a great game last night
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    Re: Cubs Call Up Castro

I think he will be just fine. They knew when they called him up that it would take time and patience, and they are willing to give him that.

I have to admit though that it was a bold move. You can't move him back down at this point without ruining his confidence...
