I can't believe nobody here has mentioned that bringing up Castro now instead of in June brings his arbitration one year sooner. It's little things like this why the Cubs haven't (and won't) win.

We still get him through 2016. His arbitration just starts a year earlier, which is fine since the Cubs can afford it. And if he gets pricey sooner, then he is obviously a good player and worth the money.

Right, it's not a situation like in Tampa where they waited to bring up Longoria. Moving Theriot to second base is a move that was long overdue, and quite frankly the idea of Fontenot being the everyday shortstop is enough to make you hurl.

Now Theriot is back at his natural position, Fontenot is back where he's historically been the most productive, and a kid who seems to have all the tools is playing the position the team wants him to play.

Going to the game tonight to see his big debut. There will be a buzz in the yard tonight. Apparently Castro was out on the field taking grounders at 2pm. Nobody else was there yet. Gotta love it.
