Nets gain expiring contracts which means they can keep these players (some/most would be better than what they currently have) OR the more expected route of using these as $$ and getting better players to fill in at the pg position or any other they want. They have fixed 2 problems by giving away one person.

Both teams gain from this trade, that's why they are still talking.

What expiring contracts do the Heat have? Why do you think they have all this cap room? It's because they have only three guys under contract for next year. Beasley and Daequan Cook are the only two expiring contracts they have, and neither of those contracts are big enough that it would help the Nets out.

I agree. Cleveland was a scary team and other teams don't scare me unless he does a sign and trade to go to Utah or ends up in Miami. Rose isn't scary because he can't shoot or play defense.

This list only shows people over 7mil we also have many more. Also, Beasley isn't an expiring contract (just fyi).

Yeah this is 2010, they're already expired, they are no longer under contract now. How are they gonna trade somebody who isn't under contract with them?

    Yeah, but see you don't.

HoopsHype - NBA Salaries - Miami Heat

Look at who's under contract next year, Beasley and Cook, with team options for James Jones and Chalmers. None of those are big contracts that teams will want to take on. But, good try with your plan.

Why would Pat Riley be talking to them about this if it is impossible (as you say)?

Maybe Pat Riley, like you, didn't realize when 2010 expiring contracts actually expire? But I kinda think somebody is making this all up. It's probably one of the two.
