Shocking... He never was the greatest pitcher, but he was always entertaining to watch. "Lima Time" will live on forever.

And he had a hot wife to look forward to. Too bad. ------------------------------------------------------------
Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -

Too young.....loved his energy when he played.

Re: Jose Lima has died
It's a sad sad day. Lima time, although he only played for the Dodgers for a year, was a joy to watch. I'll never forget his game 3 gem in the playoffs a few years back against the Cardinals.
RIP Lima time.

Re: Jose Lima has died
must have used steroids to be having a heart attack at 37 and still seemed pretty healthy. it will be interesting to see how many athletes in the next 20 years we see go due to possible side effects to steroids.

Re: Jose Lima has died
Au Revoir Lima-Time.... On and Off the field antics were priceless.....the last of the outrageous and seemingly crazy pitcher..i.e. John Rocker, Mark Fidrych...

I dont know whether he used steroids or not, but I know a couple of people who had heart attacks in their 20s. Hoiberg would have had a heart attack (had his condition not been detected) in his 30s. Doesn't mean Fred was pumping steroids.

Re: Jose Lima has died
So Jim Fickes was also a steroid user? To paraphrase Denis Leary, "All I have to say is two words: Jim Ficks. Jogged, wrote a book on jogging, and he died of a massive heart attack when? When he was ******* jogging, that's when!"
Sometimes it's just a person's time to go, regardless of whether they've ever roided or not.

Re: Jose Lima has died
Anybody else watch the documentary "Bigger, Stronger, Faster"? Steroids, while I still consider cheating, get a bad wrap when it comes to effecting the health of a person. Those who think steroids cause heart problems or other health issues should really watch that documentary.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?
