The worst part is that AG will probably go on and have a mediocre career like most pitchers in the big leagues. This was his one (and more than likely only) chance to put his name in the record books as pitching a perfect game, the most sought after record a pitcher goes after. That opportunity was taken away from him and there is nothing anyone can do about it...
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
MLB had better ******* black list that ****** ump out of baseball forever and give the pitcher the first ever 28-out perfect game

honestly, he may get his own special place in the record books with the first ever 28-out perfect game.
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
Instant replay better be a ******* lock now.
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
That was Don Denkinger esque. Exactly what I thought of when I saw watched this live.
If you don't like hearing pundits talk about instant replay in baseball, don't watch ESPN for the next week.
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
Didn't see it live. Finally saw a replay. Unbelievable, even the reaction of the Indian player being called safe was disgusted by it.

Armando Galarraga Stats, News, Photos - Detroit Tigers - ESPN
Something tells me the guy isn't going to have a mediocre career...

This sort of stuff is what makes instant replay look good.
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
Tigers players are watching the replay in their locker room and they look beside themselves.

Which ain't bad for a 28-year old 4 years into his career - his stats are only improving.
Re: Armando Galarraga Perfect thru 7.1
I always say it, baseball is such a great game, but is run by complete idiots.
What a joke this is. It is pathetic at how easily avoidable these situations are these days, yet baseball continues to do the wrong thing.
You simply cannot have situations like this regarding calls by officials in important games like this, where the fan sitting on his couch at home knows with 100% certainty that the wrong call has been made, and nothing is done about it. This is unacceptable. Get a clue MLB.

It's possible to not be bad and still be mediocre. His career ERA is 4.62 and has pitched his entire career in a huge ballpark. Nothing against the guy, but let's call a spade a spade.

It's fair. Most perfect games aren't thrown by guys like Roy Halladay, but by guys who just have that one note to their career.
It's a shame, because Galarraga earned his perfect game.
