MLB all-Star teams. Twins get 2 starters

NEW YORK -- David Wright has overtaken Placido Polanco in the final week of voting to be the National League's starting third baseman in the All-Star Game.
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols was again the leading National League All-Star vote-getter. AL MVP catcher Joe Mauer is top vote-getter overall for the July 13th game.
The other NL starters are: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina; Phillies second baseman Chase Utley; Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez; and Milwaukee's Ryan Braun, Los Angeles' Andre Ethier and Atlanta's Jayson Heyward in the outfield.
Other AL starters: Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Justin Morneau, Evan Longoria, Vladimir Guerrero, Josh Hamilton, Ichiro Suzuki and Carl Crawford.

Nice to see Mornau and Mauer getting the honors.

Love seeing the M&M boys in there but can't help wishing we had some pitchers in there because that would probably equate to more wins.

Cards have 2 starters as well, but that's a gimme.

I'd take wins over All Star participants too. Pitching is killing the team.

How can Joey Votto not be on the team? He could end up winning the freaking Triple Crown! Good grief.

He deserves to be a reserve, but there is no way that he gets the starting spot over Morneau.

Since 1952, there hasn't been a National League player to rank in the top 5 in batting, HR and RBI and NOT make the All-Star team.

Oh no, I agree. He's behind Cabrera too.

Honestly Liriano deserved to get in, if you look at his peripherals they are significantly better than most the pitchers chosen. He actually has the highest WAR(wins above replacement) of any pitcher in the game thus far this year, meaning he's basically suffered from some bad luck, which is also so by his BABIP(batting average balls in play) being an unusally high .352 vs a career average of less than .320. Even going with a traditional stat such as era he's better than Sabathia or Hughes.
