Stephen Jackson's home broken into...
This is why these guys have guns and do some of the stupid crap they do with them. It's unfortunate that they have to worry about this stuff. Charlotte Bobcats' Stephen Jackson's home robbed - ESPN -
Re: Stephen Jackson's home broken into...
Wait, so owning a gun and doing stupid crap with them go hand in hand? I don't think so. I fully support some of these individuals owning guns but c'mon, 90% of Americans that do own guns are not idiots. Stephen Jackson didn't do anything stupid with his gun here so I'm not sure why you even bring it up.

Re: Stephen Jackson's home broken into...
I think Stephen Jackson's home would be way toward the bottom of my list of people who'd I want to steal from. I don't think you can underestimate his craziness, he might get the old crew, Tinsley, Artest ,David Harrison, back together and hunt this guy down.

I would never try his house. Maybe Kirk Hinrich's or something if I was going to try.

Um... I'm a gun owner, and an AVID gun rights supporter. That was not the agenda I was pushing.
I was more saying this is why they get scared, and carry guns into night clubs, and have guns in their bags at airports. I'm not saying it's right. And I'm not saying they should break the law or anything and I think they SHOULD go get some gun safety courses... I'm just merely pointing out it's unfortunate that these guys are targets.

The guy is simply stating that it is cases like this that help us to understand why celebrities have guns, and in return they sometimes do stupid things with them. I think he's saying that these celebs have to have guns to protect themselves from robbers, but they aren't mature enough to really know what to do with them overall...its a dilema. He's certainly not saying owning a gun goes hand in hand with doing stupid crap...you jumped to that conclusion yourself.
I'm not intending to slander you but this is what is so annoying in so many cases, one person makes a harmless comment and another person takes it and twists it in such a way, over-generalizes it, and makes it into a much bigger deal that what was needed. Just take the comment for what it was instead of trying to cause a controversy, it's flat-out annoying.

I get the point that some athletes feel the need to carry a weapon but to add that they do "stupid things" with them has nothing to do with the story. That was my point. He added his own editorial to the story that really had nothing to do with it. Just make the point that "this is why pro athletes often have weapons". Done. Great point.
Glad I could annoy you this morning by making this a big deal. -

So being a pro athlete allows you to intentionally ignore hand gun laws? Who said that these guys have never taken a gun safety class? You are making a ton of assumptions. Seriously, everyone knows you can't bring a gun into the airport. Being ignorant and being stupid are two different things.

Where does he say he thinks that's ok or that he agrees athletes should ignore gun laws? I see him say it's not right and not saying they should break the law...that's all you again.
Also, he's not saying none of the players have taken a gun safety class, he's saying that they should take a gun safety class, good for the ones that have and those that haven't should.
Your twisting his words, it's almost like you're wanting a confrontation.

Your twisting his words, it's almost like you're wanting a confrontation. You must not understand an acrozier post. This is normal.
