They probably drop both Green Bay games with Tarvaris, the 49er game, and maybe the Baltimore game. They're barely .500 without Favre last year. Dude the vikings made playoffs with Tarvaris Jackson 2 years ago...

Berrian does a much better job and is more of a threat downfield (his entire purpose) with Favre at the helm. TJax can't throw a 10 yard slant, let alone a 40 yard post corner.
Most underrated person on the field for the Vikings.
TJax = below average. Orton wouldn't have led them to the Super Bowl either. You need a top quarterback 95% of the time to get to the Super Bowl. Obviously there are teams that just have that awesome of defenses to get there (looking at you Baltimore Ravens) but the Vikings don't have that. Manning, Bress, Favre, Aikman, Elway, Brady, etc. are not decent quarterbacks. They're all excellent quarterbacks. Excellent quarterbacks make Super Bowls MUCH easier to win. i understand your points but
1. sidney's rookie season showed a lot of promise, you could tell he would of been really good in the future
2. i would chalk that up more to tj than berrian being better because of favre, look how much frerrote (sp?) used him and did well with him.
3. shiancoe is the only person i see got better because of favre, mainly because favre loves his tight end in red zones.
orton got a winning season out of a defenseless/lineless bears. give orton crap for being a game manager all you want, but he knows how to win the game, orton may not be as high scoring as favre, but a wins a win.

He had less of a team to work with than Aikman with the Cowboys. Aikman did a much better job taking care of the ball but I would put them pretty close

and in the 90s Aikman was 7-1 vs Favre including 3 playoff wins

He's no Bobby Lane, but I'd take him in a heartbeat as my teams captain.

Favre proved last year he was just fine joining in late. They were a couple plays/calss away from the superbowl.

Additionally, compared AP's stats last year to two years ago. Teams are figuring out how to slow him down. Vikings defense is better, but Favre makes the entire offense lethal. Favre can make the quick throws Tarvaris can't, which gets people like Percy Harvin the ball in space and let's them do what they do best (one on one against a defender).

We will welcome Favre with open arms on his own timing, and he will grace us with his presence. The Purple Savior shall return.

I look forward to Favre ending his season with another painful, game ending intercerption. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite NFL traditions.

Re: Brett Favre= Worst Captain in NFL
I don't think Favre is going to have as good a season this year as he did last year. At some point here sooner than later, his body is going to remember that it's 41 years old.
I can respect Favre as a player, and he will rightfully go down as one of the all-time greats, but I can't stand what is IMO this constant need for adulation and attention. Behind the "aw shucks" facade is one of the biggest narcissists in professional sports.
