This all started because of Phillips and if you think it was Molina than you are way wrong. Kruk on Baseball Tonight said he would have done the same thing that Yadi did. This is all on Phillips.
Ok, so they are now tied in the Central...nothing Cincy hasn't come back from before this season. I really don't see this series as all that important. Worst case for the Reds is to be down one.
And Philips is a big mouth, yeah, but he did not start that mess tonight...but obviously a difference of opinions.
Reds fans think Yadi started it, Cards fans think Phillips started it. Analysts (not biased) think Phillips started it. I'd go with their interpretation.
I haven't seen any media members point the blame one side or the other, but it is clear both sides see it a different way.
Reds are on nerves, playing with negative energy...unfamiliar with the rest of the season. Really need to get back on track with a win tomorrow. I don't think a sweep is likely. Also, not sure if the Edmonds trade was well received.
Well Just got home and saw the "Brawl". It didnt look like a whole lot to me..... Phillips and Molina were both running there mouths. Who is surprised?? 2 teams going for the playoffs nearing the stretch run.
I saw them both go at it...equal blame. But I also saw the Reds bullpen try to calm things down with the Cardinals bullpen all going after Philips...and then everything just erupted. Not a big Carpenter fan, either.
Being a fan of a team that is not in much of a race, I would put this on Phillips. He said what he said before the game, who cares, I personally loved it. But, for him to do his 1st at bat greeting like he does ( taps the catcher and umpire on the shin guards), **** that. I would do what Molina did. Don't talk **** about how you hate my team, call us whiners and *******, then say, "hey good luck" and give me a tap.
Overall I thought it was great. Some added fire to a good race to the Central and Wild Card.
