There is no game more crucial than your next playoff game, and they gave up 51! They didn't just have an off game, that is beyond terrible. They failed when it counts.
Then you go on to talk about the Vikings losing in the playoffs, but make excuses for it.
And if you want me to start nitpicking, the defense didn't give up 51. They gave up 45 against one of the better passing teams on the league without playing without one of the better corners in the league (Al Harris).
It was one ****** game, no doubt about it. But for the YOUNGEST team in the NFL last year, they made one hell of a comeback to force OT. A lot to build on from last year.
Edit: I would rather have recent success and a Superbowl in my lifetime than your multiple superbowls back when helmets not made of leather were the cutting edge and the forward pass was just catching on. I'll give you '94. You are one up on us. But the Lions were a powerhouse in the 30s and 40s. Who cares.
It was '97. Also appeared in '98.
Last appearance for the Vikings was in '77 I think.
If you want to count recent NFC Championship appearances, we can go there too. Packers have 4 in the last 15 compared to the Vikings 3. 2-2 for the Packers, 0-3 for the Vikings.
