This actually may not be a bad thing for him. Pitchers usually come back stronger after having Tommy John surgery.

They can come back stronger, or not at all.

Used to be one year. Now it might be a little under a year.

Yeah, probably 2012 sometime I'd guess. Maybe start of the season.

Probably better for the Nationals in the long run. Allow him to come back closer to the time that Harper is ready. It's alot better that it's a ligament issue than a nerve problem. The success with Tommy John surgery has to be up over 95% these days. He will be back, and probably better than ever.
