1. No matter how many teams they have to pass, the Dodgers are in a race. They've gained 3-4 games on 3 of those teams this week alone, and play the other in Colorado this weekend.
2. I highly doubt an AL Central race would provide that motivation. An NL West race provided plenty of motivation when he was traded to LA. And why the talk about motivation, anyway? The guy's OPS could drop 100 points in a Sox uniform, and he's still an upgrade.

Back to my point...while I hope that is our starting rotation...just not sure we can do it money-wise? Carlos Quentin is not old. He's just entering his prime years and has not even reached free agency yet.

My bad...should have been more clear. His act is getting "old"! One of those guys that has ALL the tools...but is just too inconsistent and drives me crazy!

Anyway... keep ignoring my original post Sox fans, I already stated I don't think the Sox have anything to lose if they want to blow the prospect or cash.

Anywho, not surprised at the Sox. Can't hurt them at this point, just comes down to is it worth it to trade away what they have to give up or eat the $4 million if that's what comes of it. Sox are only trailing one team. Dodgers are trailing how many teams? 4? HUGE difference
It's like a golfer being in 2nd place 3 strokes behind the leader. Easy to make up. But what if he is in 10th place 3 strokes behind? A little more competition.

It was just not addressed because it was common sense. The other part of your post was addressed because it was the opposite of common sense.

We have to reply to every post on the board? Jeez...this is going to become more time-consuming than it already is!
And LA being different than the Southside...yeah...what do you mean? Very different for sure...but am I supposed to address that as well?

Hope the Sox have an adequate supply of women's fertility drugs on hand... Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

Glad Frank is getting his due this weekend! He deserves it! 10 still won't lose it. AJ Burnett is the worst pitcher in the American League. There are high school teams he'd get lit up by.

Re: White Sox win waiver claim of Manny Ramirez
Don't know if it's been mentioned but to get Manny the Sox also have to agree to at least a one year deal for next year. Manny is already looking ahead to being a d.h. and as a Dodger fan I hope the Sox take him and we get a decent prospect in return. Manny doesn't want to play in the outfield and being a d.h. just might light a fire under him and he could have another couple of good years left.

According to most sources this is false.

Ya, I've heard Manny has backed off the contract extension demand as well.

Re: White Sox win waiver claim of Manny Ramirez
dabears32- You may be right but the last I saw on the Dodger website was that Manny was requiring a one year contract with the acquiring team, but maybe he's dropped that now.
