I know the Kansas/Florida and Baylor/Kentucky matchups were announced prior to today, but after the Wiggins news, you have to bet ESPN wishes they could have a do-over.
-
I really wanted this kid to go to FSU, just from the standpoint to show other top recruits its okay not to go one of the blue bloods. Likely the most talented team Bill Self has had at kansas.
-
That is my point. Self said he wouldn't consider Sadler for the open spot on his staff. He said he wanted a more well rounded coach with contacts in areas of the country they need to recruit
-
His recruiting was good enough to get him fired and not good enough for Bill Self. If Sadler is the guy his primary duty won't be to get players, IMO.
I still dont think it will be Sadler, but...
-
its just my opinion, but I'd like to see a little stability with the staff for awhile now. In Fred's three years so far, we've seen Lutz, Elwynn McRoy, Rutter and Otz all leave. And thats not...
-
Exactly this is the place to possibly find TJ's replacement
-
So why do you think Bill Self wasn't interested in keeping Sadler for an open asst spot on his staff?
-
Townsend, Dooley, Roberts are all considered top recruiters and were on Bill Selfs staff last year. Previous it was Manning, Townsend, Dooley.
-
Some of you guys must measure defense by how slow a pace you play. Sadler's teams were middle of pack in FG % defense. Also Mann has been the lead guy for defense so are you taking that away from...
-
The people saying Sadler would be a good hire is because they have heard of him before. Very few people know much about any asst coaches around the country. There are plenty of guys looking to...
-
He's a decade plus older than rest of staff
Unsuccessful as a head coach. Teams played a style opposite of us, much more controlled.
Not known as a recruiter.
Discyple of Billy Gillespie.
...
-
Not much of a recruiter. You can only have three guys on the road at once anyway. So if he's the guy might as well have Fred, Mann, and Matt A do the recruiting.
-
Its hard to see how he'd fit with this staff. He' d be gone in a year. I will be surprised if he is the guy.
-
Ah, no he won't. They did play in the Jayhawk Invitational, but won't be part of many of the top national tourneys. Mo-Kan Elite for instance is part of the Nike EYBL that only includes the top AAU...
-
I'm guessing he'll drop out of any top 100 lists. He's playing on a poorer team and won't get watched by many of these scouts. Mo-Kan Elite is usually pretty good and plays in most of the top...
-
I'd say none of the four. at Iowa State we need solid recruiters, none of those guys bring that to the table. Even though TJ's position did a little less recruiting than in the past. Did Sadler get...
-
complete B.S. , the calls in question were from 2008 to 2011 and in basketball case, involved Lefty Moore (Peter Jok) and Daniyal Robinson (Gmac's staff)
-
Brewster has kids at alot of D1 schools, Iowa State would have no advantage. Plus he would have teammates already committed to another school.
getting him out of Minnesota is bad for the locals,...
-
no iowa did offer, dont think he ever visited though
-
as far as Rashard Vaughn, joe dooley taking the head job at FGCU may be a blow to their chances, as Dooley was the lead recruiter for kansas towards Vaughn
