New wrestling facility put on hold - Jamie Pollard statement

That’s the direction I was heading. Hopefully it can survive with private support if needed.

That was what I was wondering.

This is awesome. Its still strange to me that it had to come to this at 65kg. It seems like some of the best wrestlers we have in the country fall into this weight & we had to get pulled into repechage at the last chance qualifier to do it.

New wrestling facility put on hold - Jamie Pollard statement

Am I wrong to assume that the amount athletes receive in a "revenue sharing" scenario will be directly tied to the revenue the sport brings in? Football gets 75%, men's basketball gets 20% & everything else gets the remaining 5%? No way a men's track athlete gets the same revenue sharing...

I’m going to be interested to see where Jesse Lewis ends up. He was tough as hell last year winning the 1A 126 bracket & whipped everyone last weekend at the USA state meet. Fargo should tell how he stacks up.

Keck would have beaten him on his bad leg this year if he was 84. I can see him tooling on Arnold next year when they wrestle iowa if he stays at 74. Wouldn't Glazier have transferred out if it were certain AJ was going to go at 97 next year?

Yeah, clearly. Your opinion he should have lost. He didn’t. If we’re playing what ifs, take away his bad challenge point & the singlet grab & what’s the score? He’s a winner. Edit-not trying to sound like a **** there. Reread it & it comes off that way.

Brooks gave up a dumb challenge point to Zahid. Was a pretty easy 4 point call. Think he is clearly the USA’s best 86kg dude right now.

Freestyle/Greco is a great change of pace after the long folk style season. Go watch a 16U/Junior meet in Iowa & you will be hooked. Lots of great wrestling without all the parent screaming that normally happens in a gym tournament .

    Best Campustown Bars by Decade

Tazzles & Cy’s were our main spots. Lost & Found Lounge above Cy’s for FAC 2fers. Coming out of there blitzed while people were still headed home from class on Fridays was an experience.

I thought Carter Starocci was going to “retire” Jordan Burroughs at the Trials. He’s in the 86kg bracket instead.

Ian Parker had a nice run to 3rd at the Last Chance tournament. Lots of forfeits on the backside, but he fought back. Incredible that 2 high schoolers made the finals.

You're the Commissioner. Now Fix Wrestling!

I would like the refs to give five swipes/verbal count when wrestlers are on their feet. Similar to when they drop to an ankle. Return the bottom wrestler in the 5 count or cut them, otherwise its a stalling call. Chittum vs Downey in the Big12's was painful to watch as Downey "stalled" on...
