    Are Extended Warranties for Autos Worth It?

    I’ve purchased 3 or 4 in my life. Only one saved me money. They’re all profit which is why they pound you. My worst ExW experience was with Best Buy 21 years ago on a son’s computer. We walked out and bought one elsewhere. Will say have had decent interactions with BB in recent years.

    Tailgating at KU.

    We usually tailgate in lot east of Allen Fieldhouse. Not too near the stadium but it has been free and has easy in and out and many ISU fans have gone there. Probably 10 years since they charged to park there. This year, who knows.

    Friday OT: A game to remember

    Ten of us were in Barbados during a cruise. We found a beach bar / restaurant and the manager graciously found on the satellite the ISU-UAB NCAA mens game in 2015. Could not be better on this island paradise. Later in the game one of our group basically fainted, tended to by a nurse among us...

    Favorite/best single-scene movie performance of all time?

    I have many. Here are two: —1949’s “Twelve O’Clock High” when Harvey Stovall (played by Dean Jagger) told Gen. Savage he could delay transfers through red tape. Jagger won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for that role. —Leslie Nielsen’s urinal/open mic scene in “PoliceSquad!”

    Thursday October 5th 2023

    Jack Trice wrote his poignant note on Friday, Oct. 5, 1923 at the Curtis Hotel in Minneapolis. Trice is injured in the game at the U. of Minn. on Saturday Oct. 6, he arrived back in Ames early on Sunday, Oct. 7, and died in the afternoon of Monday Oct. 8.
