If the team doesn't have the OL to line up hat to hat with the defense it doesn't help to be right up on them. I do feel it is better to line up under center, but I do realize that there are times it is better to line up in the pistol formation. With the QB back off the line it is easier for...

Hey old farts. What did they call Jack Trice in 1977? It certainly wasn't "Cyclone Stadium"!

I was there from 79-83 and I seem to remember it being Iowa Sate Stadium. And I do remember a push to rename it after Jack Trice, but I had heard back then that they could not re-name the stadium until the bonds were paid off, although that could have been rumors.

Fat Stanley vs Not Fat Mahomes

Lets see, Mahomes athletic skill, versus Stanley's slightly above average college qb. Andy Reid, who has some history with good quarterbacks, traded up to get Mahomes in the first round, Stanley ended up being drafted with the 244th pick. College stats wise Mahomes threw for 11,252 yards, 93...

Who was the best RB today?

Hall will be the best bet in the long run. One thing that we will miss that Montgomery gave us is his blocking ability, to give the qb that extra time to pass, and with Hall's size I think he has the best chance to be able to be sucessful in our offense. He did ok, but still needs improvement...

    Lane deviation warning system

I have a 2018 Outback, that has the same lane deviantion system. When it jerks back it is just a slight jerk, not enough to put your car out of control. If you are changing lanes and do not turn on the the turn signal it will firs give a slight jerk, and if you keep turning into the lane it...

Where do we go at QB from here?

I agree, many of Park's interceptions are due to throwing the ball over the receiver. In the Texas game the color commentator on ESPN noted that Park will throw from his back foot often rather than stepping into the throw which will lead to the over throws. He was a pain to listen to, but...

    Can we talk about Nebraska?...

I grew up in western Iowa and have several friends and family members who are Husker fans and the thing I heard when they left is they won't have to deal with Texas and OU. Told them that the BIG is no different in that OSU, MU, and at that time PSU controlled everything. To me the main reason...

    Big XII Tournament Roll Call

I drove back on Sunday (son lives in KC) Great times in the P&L after the game. On the way home the majority of the cars heading back were ISU fans, in fact some that partied too hard in KC including one car that had to stop as leaving the gas station to allow a passenger to throw up outside of...

    Big XII Tournament Roll Call

Heading down Friday, win or lose on Thursday. This year sets up similar to the first tournament I went to in 2014. ISU the #4 seed playing the 11:30 game on Thursday, then the 6:00 Friday game against KU. The difference here though is that we play OSU rather than KSU on Thursday. In 2014 KU...

    Greg Davis Retires

Agree. They want to blame Davis for their offensive woes, and O'Keefe before that. One thing remains the same with both offenses, Captain Kirk. He wants to primarily run the ball, and control the game that way. The problem is with the offense he likes to run, it will continue to be difficult...

    .

Tom Osborne never liked Texas and was not a fan of the merger from when he was still coach, then when he was the AD, and the BIG was offering he jumped to get away from Texas. They also felt that it would be better in the BIG not having to put up with OU and Tex controlling things, but they...

North Carolina playing in Cedar Falls this Saturday??

Paige is good friends with several of the UNI players. In addition to playing in HS with Bohannon, he is close to Wyatt Lohaus and Jeremy Morgan from Iowa City.

North Carolina playing in Cedar Falls this Saturday??

I don't think the potential home court game is as big of a deal for a UNI as it is for bigger programs. There are many games inc CF that are not sell outs anyway, and with an arena that holds around 7,000 they are probably going to make more money playing at UNC than at home.

CFP Committee has built in B1G/SEC bias says Fox's Joel Klatt

These 2 are also negatives for the Big 12. Osborne was AD at Nebraska when they left and never liked the Texas schools being in his conference, and Alvarez is not a fan of the spread offense.

    Snyder preparing to step down?

Don't know about the rumors, but I do know that when Venables, and Mangino, left K-State for the for the Oklahoma coordinator positions under Stoops Snyder was very upset that Venables would leave his program, and where he played football at for a similar position with Oklahoma. He felt that...

How did Rhoads win 6 games in 2009 with less talent than he has today?

If you compare the schedules, we had a much easier schedule in 2009. We played 4 non-conference games, so we had Army rather than one of our conference games, and that was one of the years we played the easier conference schedule. Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas were not on our schedule...

More lopsided conference divisions, old B12 or new B1G?

It easy to see why everyone trashes the B12 for being lopsided, but don't forget when the conference was started the North actually had the better part of the conference in football. Nebraska, K-State, and Colorado were good football teams and Texas and Oklahoma were way down when the B12 was...
