    Greatest "B" side recordings ever

Most won't know this song, but I know there are a few Mats fans out there that would appreciate this. It was a B-side that didn't make it on an album, but has become a fan favorite.

    ISU baseball team

I'm not sure if everyone realizes what the facilities at major D1 baseball programs are like. They are better than most minor league facilities and a far cry from Cap Timm Field. There's no way ISU has the funds to compete. My son played at Arizona State, and they averaged over 3,000 in home...

"Get off my lawn!" music thread

I think we forget what songs were popular back in the day. To me a couple of the greatest times in music were the late '60s and the mid '80s, but the music that made those eras great weren't necessarily the pop hits. For example, in 1985 there were seminal albums from artists like The Smiths...

On That Note: I Get a “Round”

Interesting side note about this song. The instrumental jam at the end was entirely improvised by the band after they thought they had stopped recording. It turned out so well they decided to keep it in.

    "Meh" recruits vs Heralded Ones.

As far as "meh" recruits who panned out, I'm surprised no one has mentioned our favorite walk-on, Jeff Hornacek.

    "Meh" recruits vs Heralded Ones.

Sam Mack was a highly touted recruit who was a bust of sorts, not due to his performance on the court, but due to off the court issues.

    Iowa State Transfer/Recruiting Class 2024

If we don’t get the transfers we’re looking for, any chance we use a scholarship on a late HS recruit?

    2025 National Title odds…

Keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean they think ISU has the 13th best chance of winning the title. They also look at where the money will go. Programs like Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, Kansas and UConn will always get a lot of action due to their reputations, which in turn lowers...

Kansas State fans are madder than I have ever seen

I'm so glad we have TJ. I'd be so embarrassed if an ISU coach posted something like that.

Omaha enters the transfer portal (confirmed)

Two are left, counting JT Rock. If JT Rock pans out, it will still go down as a productive recruiting class.

What TV show are you streaming right now?

Watched Apples Never Fall. Great acting (Annette Benning and Sam Neill). The story kept me interested with a few twists along the way. There were a few questionable plot points, but overall worth a watch.

    Kayden Fish going portaling

And a freshman recruited by a P5 school isn’t thinking they are borderline. And as a coach you wouldn’t want them to think that way. I’m guessing Otz has had the exit interviews, which is why we’re seeing these transfers. I wish them all luck at their next schools.

An honest discussion: what happened to Greg McDermott at ISU?

I have a feeling it may have been the other way around. McDermott at this point saw the writing on the wall and knew that he wasn't going to be coaching at ISU in 2010/11. That may be why his son and Barnes, who was close to Coach McDermott, didn't commit to ISU. They knew Greg wasn't going...
