    This is a weird debate to me. It's not like it was just Iowa State fans saying "this guy is awesome, he's going 1st-round" and the rest of the world had him projected as an UDFA. Kiper was way off obviously but plenty of national outlets were projecting TJ as a sure-thing 2nd-rounder.

    Seems high. When we were playing at our best this year with everyone healthy, not sure we were particularly close to a Top 10 team. Are we Top 10 if Crooks and Brown both take big steps forward? Maybe, even then I'm not sure. Those two plus ER are great but there's a lot of good teams out there.

    This topic is interesting to think about. What is it that makes UK/KU/UNC/Duke clearly "Blue Blood" status but UConn is borderline/questionable? Championships won? Regular-season conference titles? Advanced to round X at least Y times in Z years? UCLA used to be a "Blue Blood" but no longer...

    What would this do to the ratings? I’m certain this number is being massaged to be as high as possible. The idea that it is drawing ratings as high as the men’s final four or the NBA finals is just hard to believe.

    The issue here to me concerning "growth of the game/sport" is simple: the attention is all focused on one player, not on the game/sport. That player is now gone. We'll see if the attention on the game/sport persists.

    My assumption here is, and I'm not sure how all these awards are decided/voted on, but at least for Big 12 COTY, the coaches themselves vote. As fans I think we focus on the level of play on the floor. Coaches focus on that too but they are also better tuned in than fans on how difficult it is...

    Remember earlier this year when the H***eyes were trying to cast themselves as "Des Moines' Hometown Team"? Iowa is the third-most popular NCAA team in DM and it's not close. They are maybe the 5th-most popular team in DM across all sports and divisions and that's pushing it.

    Depends on how "efficiency" is defined. Lots of players can shoot 37.8% on threes when they take 3.5 of them per game. Very few players can shoot 37.8% when they take 13.7 of them per game.

    I know they do it for financial reasons and maybe it's necessary for the tourney to be viable, but I hope the women's tourney eventually goes away from hosting the first two rounds at home for the #1-#4 seeds, that's just a massive advantage.
