    I've only planted one variety of tomatoes for several years now--Amish Paste. They are a bit later maturing but have a great flavor and work so much better for sauces and salsa then traditional varieties.     Had something very similar to that spork growing up in the all metal version. It was a bit narrower and we used it for eating out of a grapefruit half. recently, I made one similar to that from an old spoon and used it to pluck the pits out of our semi free stone peaches when canning

    Did anybody use or plan to use seed tapes this year? I think they are cost prohibitive, but an excellent idea. That said, I made my own during all the wet and cold weather.     This thread is so eye opening! I didn't know people cut pizza rather than folding it in half and eating it like a sandwich. I don't think the seal-a-meal will ever replace melting the bag shut since almost everybody has a propane torch in their kitchen to get the coals started in their oven...

    If my memory serves me correctly, 1993 was predicted to be a drought year and ended up as one of the wettest in my farming days. Seems as if there were only two "good"days to plant: Mother's Day and Memorial Day. (I know this is a weather thread and not a planting progress report thread :):))
