Curious why St Thomas in the Twin Cities wouldn’t get a look from the MVC. Clearly a school that puts emphasis on athletics in a large metro area. They are in the process of building a brand new arena for basketball
Interesting quote from their release
The Bears have won five MVC All-Sports Trophy awards in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2011 and 2018 while finishing second nine times, including each of the past three years (2021, 2022, 2023).
Right now all sports are lumped together. Yormark has made it clear he wants to do a separate negotiation for basketball the next round of media rights.
Jamie has talked about that recently too. I do believe we will see a day when the men’s Olympic sports get mostly cut and the women’s Olympic sports compete in the MVC. Cuts down on travel and we actually might see a bump in attendance at softball and soccer when they play more local teams...
Not surprised after Jamie said all plans were on hold. This can get done if donors step up and pay for it. Pretty much where we are at with the uncertainty around athletics
Watched the first couple episodes of Tales of the Empire. I have really enjoyed it so far. Not to give anything away but there are some fantastic fight sequences in the first few episodes. Music is also great
