This is how people who predicted 3-4 wins this year were treated this summer. I call it realism.

Yeah I remember getting chastised for predicting 3 wins. Lots of neg rep, lots of people saying I had a loser attitude. I just call it like I see it, that is why you all pay me to be here.

I've talked to him quite a bit (the guy is the only person I know that sleeps less than I do) and he really is a true Clone fan now. I think when he first got into the media business he was a Hawk fan just because but after doing interviews at ISU and working with people around campus, he's come to the light. I'm not somebody to ever defend a person but I think Jonathan's in it for the right reasons, regardless of what he's said or done in the past to turn some people off. He's far more vocal than I am and he goes on the radio where I've turned it down so I can't blame him for drawing criticism on to himself. It's part of being a public-facing person and I'm sure we'd all do or say something that not everybody is going to agree with. I'm just looking towards the future and trying not to dwell on the past.

I was told by multiple people that I am everything that is wrong with our athletic programs because I didn't expect much this year. My bad.

I get what you're saying Jeremy, but he's still got the Hawkeye mentality that we love to make fun of - we're going to win the conference every year and if we lose it's through some freak accident and has no bearing on how good the team is. He's a mouthpiece representing me as a fan. It drives me bananas.
