Closed threads

If a thread is going to be closed by moderators, maybe they should refrain from posting in the thread after it has been closed. Just sayin'.

Re: Closed threads

Not sure which specific thread you're talking about, but, for me, it is very hard to tell if a thread is closed or not.

Re: Closed threads

I think there needs to be a "garbage" forum, where garbage threads go to die.

A. It's a good example of what NOT to post

B. it gets them out of the forums where they were, without people wondering what happened to them

Re: Closed threads

they might have been replying to it or reading it AS it was being closed by another. and since they can post in closed threads, they wouldn't have known the difference.

I think I've heard this suggestion before... I was thinking it was under a different name, perhaps?

Are you speaking in IceBerg-troll language again?

Oops, I best be nicer to him. I love you, IceBerg. And, I love puppies.

I can't tell if it was closed or not. My mod powers are weaker than others. PLus, I think it should stay open so people can pile on him

No problem ... then I agree with jumbo ... ship it off somewhere else once it is closed.

Can't say I agree about shipping it off. Would seem like more work.

Perhaps just having a pop-up warning (are you sure you want to post to this closed thread?) that displays anytime someone with rights posts to a closed thread would be sufficient.

I was ready to pile on when my ability to do so was revoked!

That would work too.

Re: Closed threads

Do closed threads not show up the same for Mods as they do for slappys like me?

I don't even have a quick reply box on a closed thread.

Nope, they show up like any other thread for us, just with a little tiny "closed" button at the bottom. It's pretty easy to miss it.
