Advertising Iowa Gear on Cyclonefanatic?

I gotta admit Jeremy - I was a little turned off today when I logged in and saw a big advertisement for Iowa Football Fanatic gear at the top of the page......I understand you need advertising revenue, but this is cyclonefanatic.com, isn't it? I doubt it was just a coincidence that Iowa gear popped up as an advertisement instead of any other college team out there, but maybe it was......just wanted to share my feedback.

google ads pickup on key words in posts, if you want Hawk ads off CF, then stop posting about them or reading threads about them.

I thought it's also based on your personal browsing history, whether on CF or outside. All the ads I seem to get are pizza place ads!

I see the same ad, but with ISU merch instead. Probably has to do with your search history like someone said above.

Okay, that's actually good to hear - I was hoping that Jeremy didn't give his rubber stamp of approval specifically for Iowa ads.

I wish it were as simple as me not reading or posting in Iowa ads (b/c I rarely do unless it directly relates to an upcoming/previous game), b/c it would be easy to fix.......unfortunately, I can't control the rest of the cylconefanatics.....maybe HUCAC can though? :wink:

I show cyclone gear now and usually see cyclone gear; however, it was hockeye (now I know I need to disguise that word :) gear when I logged on and I was caught off-guard. I never go to any of the Hock sites and rarely post about them, but I'm guessing it had something to do with a post or two I made about the game last Saturday....who know's?

I don't see anything. The goggles, they do nothing!
