Search Function

The search function sucks. I can't ever find threads I know exist.
Last week, I believe, there was a thread entitled "Stupid Tax Question," I type in tax and it says there is no matches.

More tends to be more with the search. Since it is looking through the whole thread for the words you use to search, give it as much as you can. I actually found it a lot easier with "stupid tax question" than I even did with "stupid tax."

It won't search with less than 4 characters I've found.

I typed in "stupid tax" and then just "tax" and even "stupid tax question" and nothing. Thanks, Cycofan.

Are you using the Basic Search or the Advanced Search function? I've generally had better luck with the Advanced Search.

I typed in "Stupid" and all I got was a bunch of posts from GC..

Then I typed in "moron" and all my posts showed up. Yep, I think the search software needs a revamp.

In the Advanced Search, you can elect to search thread titles or posts. It's a dropdown menu under the search box.
