Re: 10/8 CF Ownership Update

Great site Jeremy and I'm glad to hear that you are back at the helm.

I'm not suggesting a subscription but I think that if you are experiencing the hardship that you are to run this site then you have the justification to get a little more aggressive with your fund raising or ads.

Unfortunately with anonymity of the internet comes anonymity of avoiding donations.

I think you need to hit us over the head a little bit more with your need for donations. Your sponsor banner above the avatar and chart of monthly donations is great.

Maybe a pop-up that comes up after 50 log-ins that offers a way to donate.

Maybe a needs list posted so something tangible can be seen to donate towards.

Just a suggestion. I just hate to see you make sacrifices in your personal life.

Thanks for it all!!

I really need to be better at reminding people but I hate being a nusiance:) I think I'll start doing a monthly donation update thread and some sort of contest or giveaway type thing as well. Thanks for the feedback SlyCy!

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Jeremy
I really think the need for "donations" is ambigious and you should have no problem putting out there why you need money supported by your costs etc. If people see you negativley cash flowing I think there may be a larger sense of urgency to support you and CF.

Re: 10/8 CF Ownership Update

Do something for donations like what Cyclone.com does tracking season tickets. Maybe put up how many CF members have donated against the total number of CF members... just an idea.

Re: 10/8 CF Ownership Update

Wow...I just saw this.

Jeremy, you can now see why some people do not enjoy the "other site" because of ownership. But I am glad you have complete control back.

Now, you should let us start a little fundraiser to make up at least some of your costs.

I will be earmarking my refund from the CF Extras as a donation back to CF.

You have a lot of support here because you've built such a great community.

Thanks a lot guys for all the support, I really do appreciate it! Also, thanks for keeping remarks towards the positive in this thread instead of negative towards "others". I'm sure we'd all agree it's better to celebrate what we have here instead of cause potential legal headaches

Other forums tried to force me to pay for their content and I left. You leave it up to us so now I will donate. Thanks for the great site and good luck with your move.

Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. I am away for a day and I miss it! I am really glad to hear that you have total control and I hope the donations keep flowing.

Yeah, I almost didn't sign up for CF Extras when I saw who the payment was going to. Decided to jump in anyway. I'll make sure to donate part of my refund as well.

Anyway to bring in some more add material on the website? There isn't much now and I could stand a little more. That can only help with costs.

The last I heard is that Jeremy is working on that. However, there are a few behind the scene items that must be completed before Jeremy can proceed. Jeremy has some big plans but the logistics will take while to sort out.

Of course Jeremy's plans may have changed since then and this post may contain nothing but false information. So buyer beware I guess.
