Due to the increasing interest and divisiveness in political discussions, we've decided to create a special section for the discussions to take place where it won't impact those that wish to remain "apolitical" on the site. We now have a politics-only forum HERE. Please note that the posts in the politics section WILL NOT show up on the recent threads section of the site due to feedback that most people would like those threads separate from the normal topics.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Thanks, CF Staff

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

I know a lot of people like to talk about all sorts of topics and some enjoy the more sports oriented. I'll ponder some ideas and see what I can do. |

Can we make it a user preference? That would be handy, then you can pick and choose what is on your recent topics.

I imagine they'll be a decline in interest in political threads from this point on.

Thanks, CF Staff That a good enough respose for me. I thought that I had said something overly offensive and that has never been my intention.

Yes, user preference, options being...
All threads (included Off-Topic and Politics)
Sports plus Off-Topic
Sports plus Politics
I am not in favor of removing the Off-Topic threads from the main page. I personally don't care to see the political ones. I know others differ, so user options for this, IMO, would be best - as Brian noted.

Jeremy,
would you consider Global Warming in this category as well? not quite political, but is in a way since the current thread started yesterday with what I think was attempt to bash democrats (for views on global warming) due to some study on a moon of Saturn. That is a pretty darn divisive topic as well. Most threads spiral down into those not believing in warming ripping on the left and dems and vice versa towards the right.
| I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. If all this board did was talk about ISU sports it'd die a slow painful death. OT's keep people interested, even diehards can only talk about how badly Tech wooped us for so long ...

You and your big words. I have been trying to sound them out, but it would have been cool if you included illustrations.

Well that's kind of the problem with doing it this way. Politics are so diverse of a subject that what I think is common sense may be political to somebody else, etc. While we all know my political opinions are actually fact, it's hard to make everybody believe that |
