As you may have seen me post before, we had to move today to our new house and were supposed to have everything finalized this afternoon. Well the sale of our house went through perfectly and that's all finalized but our bank had technical issues that caused them to push all of their closings back from today to next Tuesday. Because of this delay, we're unable to actually live in the new house until Tuesday.
So... The wife, dogs and I are sleeping about an hour away from Des Moines at my parent's house until Tuesday. Since we'll be commuting a lot and trying to get thigns done, I'll have limited time during the days to be online. I'll still have my BlackBerry with me and be on the site at night but that's about it until mid-week.
Thanks,
Jeremy Lind

Well we actually bought a house in West Des Moines so it's a good thing we didn't have you meet us there to unpack |

You might be able to get the bank to pay you for your loss on this. I had a similar thing go down, my realtor advised me on this, and he was right. I got the adjusted cost of the days against the mortgage refunded. It was a couple hundred $$$.
You may be able to get more, such as a per diem for your expenses incurred. My situation had me close earlier than the original agreement, so I had no expenses per say.

I know it is a pain, but be happy your old house closed on time. That would have really thrown a wrench into the whole thing.

I think I'd rather be unpacking than watch what could unfold tomorrow.

Sorry for the long delay, it's been a crazy and hectic few days. Well I can only get online at night when back at the parent's house so I have to resort to using the Blackberry for keeping up to date and that's anything but fun.
Well it looks like we should be able to close either at the end of tomorrow or first thing on Wednesday and then we can finally live in our new house. Oh yeah, we moved to the area West of Valley Junction in West Des Moines.

We need to have a CF bar night down in Valley Junction. Cliff's down on 5th is pretty much a hawkeye bar - that could be fun...... |
I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell.

I'm not a big fan of the area bars...Chicken Coop I've had bad experiences with. I like the stadium but its small and usually pretty empty, plus they like to close around 12 if they aren't busy.
We usually go to 3rd base or AKs. Or if we are feeling really uppity we'll head over to the West Glenn bars.
The WDM CFers or other CFers nearby should have a mini get-together.
