Feedback Needed On New Feature

I've been playing around with adding a AJAX tabbed interface to parts of the site and wanted to get some early feedback. The tabs would switch when clicked without having to reload the page.

The attached screenshot is just one way to incorporate the tabbed interface for the Recent Threads section of the homepage. I have a ways to go in getting the formatting to look like the current recent threads module but I'm thinking of adding a tab for All Recent Threads, ISU Threads, Off-Topic Threads, Press Releases, etc.

Any feedback on how this looks?

I'm somewhat unsure what that would look/work like on a full size page, thus I don't really know what to tell you.

I think I like what you got going on, if it works the way I think it does.

Would we be able to choose which topics we have at the bottom on a preference basis? Like would I be able to have "MBB, FB, Wrestling and Off-Topic" while someone else had "MBB, WBB, and Politics?"

If you go for the tabbed layout, you should add one more tab: blogs.

Maybe not possible, but it would be cool to have the tabs customizable, so you could have them ordered in a way to access your most used areas of CF in tabs left to right.

I think it would be an improvement to have them as they are in the screenshot if my suggestion is not possible, though.

LOL!

I like the idea of customize, but that might be more troublesome to do. Great idea though. Also, I would be more included to put the tabs on the top of the page instead of the bottom. I dont know how long these pages would get, but would suck to have to scroll down to switch them. Oh and if those fun little icons still show next to them (bulb, letter, etc) that would be great too. Otherwise, I think it could work well.
