Re: Feedback Needed - CF Credits & CyBookie

I like the system pretty much as is. It'd be nice to be able to buy insurance on bets. I hate betting against the cyclones, but if I want to "win", sometimes that's the right choice. It'd be cool if I could bet my whole wad on the 'clones, and then buy insurance so that if they lose, I only lose the insurance amount, say 20% of the bet or something.

I LOVE it, can you tell, I am down 30k in just 2 weeks!

Anyway my only suggestion is ratchet up the amount of credits you get from other activities so this just does not become a whole can bet the best board. Other than that, stick with it.

Ohh, if you want to reset everyone, I am good with that

I agree with the idea of giving some credits (maybe 500) after getting zeroed... However, there should be a 3 to 5 day waiting period.

I don't think it is fair to link it to rep... for some of us rep is hard to come by.

How about linking it to post count, this is equal for everyone.

I agree completely. Should not be based on rep. To me it's as bad as granted rep being proportional to the person giving rep, which I still don't understand. It just kind takes away from the "credibility" of rep in the first place. {sour grapes}

Only 2 weeks and some have ran out of credits? Here's an idea if you can't even keep fake gambling credits in the bank..

leave the system the way it is now.

You can earn back credits by posting.

Re: Feedback Needed - CF Credits & CyBookie

I'm not worried I like the system as is, other activities such as posting and stuff makes you regain your credits pretty fast. I'm at 333 right now lets see after I post

I jumped to 375, even with limited amounts of posting people should be able to stay active betting. Besides I hardly think that's the main point of the board. Actually something I'd say maybe just have an automatic 500 once a month for people who lurk or something.

Is it just me, or did my credits triple for some reason overnight?

Not that I'm complaining!

If you just give our credits, the system will become meaningless once the novelty wears off. People will just put all of their credits on an event knowing if they lose, it doesn't matter and they will get more credits.

I just ran an update on the credits giving members a 500 "paycheck" for each week they've been a member of the site. Going forward each member will get 500 credits each week they logon and then the credits as usual for each activity. This will be the CF Welfare system:)

I do agree that rep shouldn't be included in any big way so that is off the table. I also agree that the credits would lose their meaning if we handed them out all the time for no reason. By having the set limits that are in place, I think it keeps the system strong - and by having the welfare check, it keeps people engaged and able to participate.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

This works for me. Good solution. You can't just hand out credits so people can bet big and not be affected. But this is also for fun so people should be able to play if they have made some bad bets in the past.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid all together.
