Exclamation Feedback Needed - CF Credits & CyBookie

We've had the credit system in place for about two weeks now and there is one thing that we need help and feedback on..

Members have loved using the CyBookie system but several have run out of credits for one reason or another.

What would you guys like to see done to help make sure people stay active and happy, even after running low on credits? Should I make it so credits never go below a number equal to the number of posts a user has or should we reset everybody's credits back to the system formulated amounts now that everybody understands (at least partially) how the credit and betting system work?

Another thing we could do is make it so getting positive rep gives you a lot more credits.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

I guess I would recommend giving more points for what gets you points now. Other than that, people should be using their credits responsibly.

Part of what makes betting ...well..betting is the risk involved. You could potentially loose all your "money." Whats the point if you can make rediculous bets with no fear of losing? I saw a lot of people putting 20k bets on ISU...which is fine..but you have to be ready to take it when you lose.

Jeremy, I would say none of the above. If someone loses all their credits, thats their own fault.

I agree with your post. The issue is that this is for fun and we are trying to see if there is a way that we can automatically have a minimum number for credits so we all can continue to have fun.

I love the current setup. My only suggestion would be along the lines stated...

- Once a user hits 0 credits, they are awarded 500 (or some other number) credits.
- Each time a member places a bet (not separate bets, just each time they enter a bet on a bet item), they are awarded X number of credits for participating.

I agree, I think we should leave it as is.

I think this is a great system and it just adds another dimension of fun to the site. A request however, is to make a link to a page listing aspects of how to get credits and the formula of how credits are awarded. I have asked and have been told before the answer to this, but it takes to much time to read through all the posts and what not. So that would be something that would be very useful to me.

Thanks!

Again, I don't think people should be given credits as stated above. BUT if a system was put in place, maybe setting a limit on how fast "free" credits are dished out would be good. Such as you hit zero, get 500 then if you blow that you have to wait a week, day or some period. Just a thought, thanks.

Re: Feedback Needed - CF Credits & CyBookie

Also, how does a non moderator set up a CyBookie item? I would have like to put a wager on my beloved Packers today, but there was nothing available. Can the everyday shmoe be granted that power to set up CyBookie items, like we can a regular thread? If not, can we submit some orderly petition mechanism to get certain topics on CyBookie? Again, I love the system the way it is, just suggested improvements. Thanks,

Right now only Mods are able to set something up. You could PM or create a new thread with a request for a CyBookie event along with the betting lines. I am sure any Mod would love to help out.

Hey, I agree with the other side too. I just see what Jeremy is trying to create, a fun feature where all members can participate, regardless of how poor of betters they are. ;)

Ok thanks for the info. It seems like you and Chad set up a lot of the bet items. Are you guys the appointed Gambling Ministers or something?

Yeah, I can see both sides as well. I once knew what it was like to be a new member and be out of the loop. I guess because of the way I am, in that my mind automatically goes to "how can people abuse the system" mentality, I suggested the time frame limit.

Not appointed just enjoy doing it. If anyone has a suggestion for a bet PM me or keep or start a thread on the betting board.
