Lightbulb CycloneFanatic - Record Traffic

FYI - we smashed our old traffic record yesterday by about 80%. The previous site traffic record was set during the McCarney/Chizik firing/hiring. That goes to tell you two things...

1 - CF has grown immensely.
2 - Everybody really did love Wesley.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

I always liked Wes but no more than the other guys.

I think we are just all sick and tired of players leaving. Not just any player. OUR BEST players.

Fizer, Stinson, Blalock, Taylor, Wes J.

5 of our better players since 2000 have all left early.

Sorry, I have to be honest and say I simply can't get excited about that.

Well I can understand not getting excited, I obviously have mixed feelings. I'm glad to see the site bigger than ever but obviously not for the reasons it is.

...And Kentucky basketball has a lot of fans!

(not taking anything away from the other two, of course)

Jeremy... Congratulations to you on the traffic... Let's hope the next time it gets smashed is because of good news.

I would take fizer out of that, we all know why he left, and there is not one single person who can fault him for what he did. He was the only one that left on good terms.

But I do understand what you mean...

There are millions of page views from around 45,000 unique visitors per month.

Completely agree. Let me know when we break a record because of winning a bowl game or going to the Final Four.

Jeremy -- [Well I can understand not getting excited, I obviously have mixed feelings. I'm glad to see the site bigger than ever but obviously not for the reasons it is.]

Just like the news -- the good stuff usually doesn't rate much attention. I imagine that if there were only good-great-better-best news, the threads might be wonderful for a while. But eventually the threads would become negative, and that's when the quantity rises.

I'm disappointed that Wesley is leaving ISU, but happy to have this board for all to offer our opinions.

I couldn't agree more with you. He had to leave. He had accomplished everything he could at Iowa State other than winning a national title.

Now only if he had stayed...what could have been...but still don't fault him for leaving early...the rest...well that's another story...

Go Cyclones! - Go Kohawks!

For folks that like to say that ISU can't recruit talent, or never has, or that no one would want to play here, that's a pretty good recent list. And that's just the ones that left early.

ISU basketball really is fun
