New Game Day Site Feature Throttling

Due to the continued explosive growth of CycloneFanatic and the strains the huge influx of visitors puts on the site during games and key events, I am going to start throttling back some site features for those events.

On game days, the following features will be disabled to help reduce the server load....

1 - Ability to add a user to your ignore list from their username dropdown in posts.
2 - Forum stats module & top stats page.
3 - Ability to see number of unread reputation comments in the top right user section on the site.
4 - Smilie popup menu in the quick reply feature.
5 - Donation system, tracking & labels.
6 - Other small tweaks and enhancements that most shouldn't notice are gone for a day.
7 - Image resizer for oversized pics. If somebody posts too large of a picture, please report the thread for a mod to delete.
8 - Meet our staff page.

Most of those should help a lot as it greatly reduces the number of queries for each page load - and it shouldn't be noticeable to the vast majority of visitors.

With ticket sales down due to the economy and many more people staying home - not to mention the huge annual increase in site traffic anyways, I'm planning for the worst to try and prevent it.

Maybe the moderator option should be shut off. Thank God when I click 'reply' there is the jimlad option still on the right. Guess I can't 'quick reply' for a day. Sad day.
