Re: Please report ANY site issues here

Just talked to one of our IT guys. If you are getting that "19 threats" message from Norton, try going into the history of the program and deleting them. That should do the trick. Let me know if this does or does not work.

Re: Please report ANY site issues here

I haven't had the chance to post since Sunday.

Sunday, I went to this site and immediately my computer was attacked by a serious virus.

My computer is now getting debugged at a cost of $140.00

I realize it's not entirely CF's fault, but boy it did tick me off.

Did not work. Still getting warning site is unsafe.

This happened before too. I think it just stays in the system for a while....because the last time it happened it went on for a few days after the threat was supposedly fixed. Then there was no warning for a couple of days, and then once again an attack was blocked, and the site unsafe warning came back.

Re: Please report ANY site issues here

Chris I use Spyware doctor. My intelliguard blocked a High risk level site (widgetserver.com (63.246.8.185)). This occurred at 11:31:38 today.

I believe this message popped up when I accessed Cyclone Fanatic, but I have a lot of sites open simultaneously and it may have been from another site.

I just wanted to let you know in case this is the site you've been having issues with.

I was on here Sunday night and saw what was going down so I immediately left. And last night my laptop crashed. I dont know if it is just coincidence or not but I'm going to get it looked at asap.
Im on a different computer at the moment and probably shouldnt even be here but couldnt resist as I wanted to see what info has been presented on the issue.

Re: Please report ANY site issues here

Yesterday, I got the malware warning constantly. Today, everything appears shipshape.
If you get those warnings on a Mac OS, something's definitely amiss.

aweb84 had me download malwarebytes. It got rid of the nastiness and I didn't have to pay for it.

Re: Please report ANY site issues here

It appears my one or two seemingly minor issues are resolved. The site is working as it should and I no longer get any warnings. I ran a full scan in Spyware Doctor today, and found a thing or two, but that was the first time I ran it on this relatively new computer. So that isn't too surprising and is not necessarily related. All scans yesterday in Avast, Malwarebytes and McAfee turned up nothing.

I am going to keep my backups current and be a lot more vigilant as a result of this. Right now, though, it seems unlikely that there were any lasting negative implications on this computer.

Re: Please report ANY site issues here

For those of you with the security suite install thing happening, if you are quick you can start your computer and open up task manager and kill the process called nsgaywtshdw.exe and then you will at least be able to open up new applications. After that I suggest running the various malware removal tools and cleaning up your registry as bos suggested here
Some of you that are getting alot of issues. Do me a favor. Go to Start>Run. Type in regedit and hit enter. ****MAKE NO EDITS, you can further pooch your machine if you dont know what you are doing****When that window pops up, use the tree to the left. Go to HKEY_Local_Machine>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version and click on Run. You will see a list of stuff on the right. In alot of cases you will see a pointer to a weird filename 43ghjg43j.exe, stuff like that. If you feel comfortable, you can send me a screen shot or type up a list of whats in there and I can tell you if you have any junk running from there.
    Do the same from:
    HKEY_Current_User>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version

What happens alot of the time is that spyware removers will grab most of the problem but not all since these things can rename themselves and rerun on next boot up. It requires the removal of the command in the registry to end the cycle.
NOTE: BOS posted this not me! I will not be able to help you with screenshots!
