Did you guys even watch that? That was incredible. Absolutely one of the coolest things in college basketball I've seen in years. I hope that gets posted on websites all over because that's something you only rarely see.

The really sad thing is that because of the BTN, a lo of people who would have been watching (Such as myself) can only watch a grainy youtube video of it and didn't have the chance to see such an amazing performance by the kid.

As much as I hate the Hawks, that was pretty cool and sadly might be the only way they'll get fans to come back.

Did it not seem like during the last two shots that the place got a little more full.

Wonder how many people were rushing back to their seats. Probably half the place... so 5, maybe 6.

We were listening on 1040 coming home from Ames (which was a first

). Dolphin whips out some remark like "ala Chris Kingsbury"

Um Gary, this kid was actually making his shots.... Not just heaving up 1 of 5 from 40 feet.

I lost a few credits on that one, but I don't care - watching that was amazing. I flipped over to the game just in time to see the last one.

What I liked about it most? The kid acted like he does that kind of stuff all the time. Didn't jump around like he was some king, but got back on defense quickly, hustled back to the huddle normally, etc.

incredible....

basically that is BB in a nutshell... anything can happen at any given time.

the 'heave' from 40 feet is desperate, but he was feeling it, so why not AND it worked.

I watched it a second time focusing on the 'fans'. most were walking around until he hit his third, then ppl sat back down or found their seats to watch 'a game'.

I remember watching Justin Johnson last year thinking he was a good player, that he would fit in at ISU really well.
Either way, Hawks or not, it was really cool. Maybe they won't go 0-18 the rest of the way out in conference if they play that hard. With the way Alford left that program, and the bad luck they have had with injuries, I would not blame them for hanging it up for the season. But they do play hard. I credit that to the coach.

Why would anyone want to watch something on the hawks that would appear to be favorable and do it on purpose. Watching them choke is much more appealing to me.

Of course, I just lost 100K on their sorry butts so I could be a little biased.

I equate this to that beautiful approach shot I hit on 18. I suck all day but that one shot brings me back next time.

For me, this game is a little like that for Hawk fans. Down 13 (I realized they played well at times throughout) at the end and hit a flurry of (some) improbable 3's to make it close. Gives them hope, brings them back next time only to watch their dreams get shattered.

Had to hold back the negative rep on this one. Can you tell us why it would have been awesome if that had been all over SportsCenter?

I thought it was the perfect thing that could have happened. Kept the game interesting but you knew that Iowa was too far behind to actually win the game.
