We do have to remember that it is the big 10, and just like in football they are all ranked higher than they rightfully should be because of the the confrence has done in the past. They are a few years behind im basketball so it will take a couple more years for the country to realize in basketball what everyone is starting to notice in football, that the Big 10/11 is just a complete joke.

You do realize an "avg" Wisconsin team beat Texas. Mich St. is a good team this year. Top 10? Doubtful, Top 20...yes. As posted earlier, the reason Iowa won was the defense that was played. They were stellar on the defensive end.

I am so tired of so called "fans" talking trash about McDermott. I know, we should hire Morgan back. Maybe even bring in Stinson. Lord knows he did whatever he wanted to anyway. May as well give him a coaching position.
Morgan for Pres. 08 If you would take the time to read my posts, you would see that I really disliked Morgan. He needed to go. I also am not calling for McDermott. Just putting some stuff up for debate. I am still waiting for McD to win me over. I really hope he can get it done because he could be a lifetime coach here if he can and lord knows we need the stability, but I am still waiting for the light to come on with his 2 teams.
Offensively we are getting a bit better IMO, but how many layups did Baylor simply drive to the hole and get yesterday? Our D effort is what will win games for this team and it has been lacking most of the year.

You do raise a good point. Coach Mac has yet to get a GREAT win. Some decent middle of the pack wins. I never realized that until you mentioned it. Heres to finally starting to beat some top 25 teams again.

We should really give Eustachy a call and see if he will come back.

I guess the game last night WAS Iowa in your face defense big.

Will be interesting to see how Iowa performs against Purdue. I have a feeling that Purdue win might be our best of the year.

Certainly I don't claim to know what' going to happen with the program in the future, but it seems McD has it headed in the right direction. I expected this team to .500 at the best starting two freshmen and a sophomore. But we've got what look like three more quality players coming in next year in Staiger, Eikmeyer (sp?), and Buckley. I think the first year we can really judge will be 2009/10.

We are in year two of the McD error and still waiting for our signature win. Yes, we have had some bad breaks, but the Hawks have had just as many or more.
Not stirring the pot. Just an observation. If I had to guess, the correct word here should be era? That might clear up some confusion.

Actually...it was an error...I did mean era. I apologize for the confusion and will edit my post. I am not calling his hire a mistake...just not calling it a success as of yet.

It is fixed now. Was not intentional, but maybe the subconcious took over there....had no idea I had typed that.
