Their next 5, I think are at Creighton, UNI, Creighton, at Indiana State, and at Illinois State. That will determine what happens to them. If they go at least 2-3 or 3-2 in that stretch, they are set.

Why not? I'm assuming all losses would be to good teams (Creighton, Creighton, Ill St, SIU, and UNI are the ones I have them penciled in on) and that would mean they would only have one loss to a team with an RPI over 100 and that being on the road. Their RPI would be right around 40. It would be a travesty for them not to make the tourney with that record.

That being said, they might not even lose 5 more, and if they only lose 4 more, they would be an absolute lock.

But I thought us losing to Drake was a travesty and we should never lose to them and we are pathetic for doing so?

They are easily in at 22-6. That means they are probably 1st or 2nd in the Valley. The Valley will get at least two teams in the tourney. They are having a great season and it shows the value of chemistry on a team. They don't have any five, four, or even three star talent. Plus, Keno Davis is doing a great job.

I think the Valley will only get 2 teams in MAX. It will all come down to what happens in the conf. tourny.

Re: Drake ranked 23rd in ESPN/USA Today poll

Some of the other conferences (see A-10) will slip back during confernce play. Projections had the A-10 with a MVC like season but I think they may beat each other up enough to assure at least 2 maybe 3 MVC teams get in...

I agree that the Valley will only get two. I think those two will be Creighton and Drake.

Re: Drake ranked 23rd in ESPN/USA Today poll

They way I see it a MVC team with no real good wins (AP or RPI top 25) with 4-5 losses and that didn't do well in the conference tournament is probably about a 10 seed in the NCAA tournament. Typically that's about where the last at-larges get in.

Certainly they will be a bubble team with that record but definately not a lock.

'But I love the idea of the Sacrificial Lamb. . . There are consequences to actions. The point of the death of Christ is that Christ took on the sins of the world, so that what we put out did not come back to us, and that our sinful nature does not reap the obvious death. That's the point. It should keep us humbled. . . It's not our own good works that get us through the gates of heaven.'
